As part of the Department for Education funded Together for Two Project in England, we were invited by PACEY (the Professional Association for Childcare and Early Years) to partner with them in challenging perceptions about childcare roles, delivering careers-in-childcare sessions, and talking directly to Job Centres about the opportunities that are available to men.
Find out more about the project, access resources and listen to the 3-part podcast mini-series we made, on the PACEY website. In it, MITEY project lead Dr Jeremy Davies talks to PACEY head of partnerships Theresa Johnson, about why the lack of men in early years is a problem, the challenges, and some strategies to get men into the early years. Sharing their experiences are Ian, a childminder from Wales and Tony, a childminding assistant from Cambridgeshire.
